From May 20th to 22nd 2022, Explora took part in the fifth edition of Fiera Didacta Italia, hosted in Florence at Fortezza da Basso.
Didacta represents the most important trade fair on innovation in the world of education, with the aim of fostering the debate on the world of education among institutions, associations and entrepreneurs, in order to create a meeting place between schools and companies of the sector.
Teachers from crèches, kindergartens, primary, lower and upper secondary schools, ITS professional institutes, universities, scientific research institutes and vocational training institutes came together to propose, design, promote and create new connections.

During the fair, it was possible to present the handout Realising a Toilet Art project at school, a product born out of AAA’s project experience to provide teachers with useful tools for the in-depth study of sustainable issues in the classroom through the involvement of pupils in the restyling of school toilets.

The feedback from teachers has been very positive: the topic of sustainability offers teachers many ideas and suggestions for a classroom discussion on sustainable development goals, with the development of new projects to be implemented outside the curriculum. What emerged from the discussion with the teachers was the real need to talk about sustainability with the aim of a change of course in the attitudes of students (and the entire school community) towards the environment, and the importance of having a handout that can be adapted in content to different age groups. In addition, the added value of the cross-subject approach of Toilet art emerged, spanning art, architecture, science, technology and civic education.
